From the Preface:
There has been remarkable growth of knowledge concerning the salivary glands in recent years. Yet the reports of these advances have been relegated to the publications of the dispersed fields of specialization pertaining to the salivary glands. In the course of seeking information about the effective treatment of patients suffering from the disorders of these glands, we realized that integration of the pertinent basic science and clinical studies into a unified text would be useful. It is with this purpose in mind that Diseases of the Salivary Glands has been written.
