Cobalt's atomic number is 27 and its symbol is Co. Cobalt is often synonymous with the color “Cobalt Blue'', however, pure cobalt ranges from a lustrous silver to dark grey color. In modern-day industries, cobalt is used in lithium-ion batteries, wear-resistant metal alloys, and as a catalyst for drying oils.
