Dubnium's atomic number is 105 and its symbol is Db, and it does not occur naturally on Earth, so it has to be produced artificially. It is highly radioactive; the most stable known isotope, dubnium-268, has a half-life of about 28 hours. This has greatly limited extended research on dubnium. Two different groups claimed to discover the element around the same time, both proposed a different name for the element. After years of dispute over the naming of the element, it was named after Dubna, a town in Moscow, Russia, where one of the research groups that discovered it was located. This display is contained within crystal clear Lucite acrylic.
