Fulgurite
Fulgurite
Item #240
Fulgurite is the "fossil" of a lightning strike. These formations are a natural glass formed when lightning strikes the Earth, melting the silica (sand, dirt, etc) in that spot. When the melted silica cools, what's left is a structure representing the lightning bolt.
For a brief moment, each fulgurite was once the hottest spot on Earth's surface. A perfect addition for your fossil or geology collection.
This listing is for one to two fulgurite formations (depending on size) displayed in an acrylic case. Size range: ~0.5" to 1". Images are representative of the specimen you will receive but may not be the exact item.
