Featuring a long, snake-like neck and a stout body equipped with slender paddles, Plesiosaurs are one of the most readily identifiable of all ancient marine reptiles.

This specimen is a Plesiosaur tooth recovered from deposits in Morocco and dates to the late Cretaceous Period.

Classic Riker Box Plesiosaur Tooth Sizing

Three sizes are available:

• Medium: 1-1.5" (~2-3cm)
• Large: 1.5-2" (~3-5cm)
• Extra-Large (XL): +2" (~5cm+)

Each specimen comes inside a classic, glass-topped riker display case. The Medium and Large case measures 4 1/2" x 3 1/2" and the Extra-Large (XL) case measures 5"x6". A small information card is also enclosed that also serves as the certificate of authenticity.

Please Note: All teeth will show signs of repair (typically small cracks repaired with penetrative stabilizers). Some teeth will be reassembled. This is the nature of this item and is completely normal.

In addition, to protect the specimen during transit every Plesiosaur tooth is individually wrapped. On receipt, simply open the top of the case and unwrap the tooth and then arrange the tooth inside the case as pictured here on the site. We also recommend placing the bubble wrap under the soft, white lining of the case. This extra padding will keep the tooth snug in the case after the lid is secured.

We have limited numbers of matrix teeth and they are sold and priced individually based on the size and the additional inclusions. Matrix teeth ship in our heavy cartons and are carefully packed with extra cushioning. As with our riker box specimens, the matrix teeth also include a small information card that serves as the certificate of authenticity.
