At only about 1.5 meters long, this Early Cretaceous predator from China looked like a miniaturized rex, complete with sharp teeth, a lightweight frame, and, most excitingly, evidence of protofeathers. Yep, the king’s great-great-uncle was rocking fuzz. Dilong shows that even the scariest predators started small (and a little fluffy).
