Holmium Element Cube - 2" Acrylic Display - Atomic Number 67
Holmium's atomic number is 67 and its symbol is Ho. Holmium is named after the capital of Sweden because of the Swedish chemist who discovered it. It is usually mined from a mineral called monazite.
Holmium has the highest magnetic permeability of any element, which means that it is able to obtain the highest magnetization from a magnetic field of all the elements. This is why it is used to create the strongest artificially generated magnets in the world. Holmium is also used in nuclear reactors as a neutron poison to absorb excess neutrons
