Krypton's atomic number is 36 and its symbol is Kr. Krypton is a colorless noble gas that is capable of illuminating a light blue color when excited, not to be confused with the fictional material “Kryptonite”. Krypton is most commonly used with other halogen gasses in fluorescent lamps and bulbs when bright light is needed.
The Krypton in this cube display is under vacuum within a glass ampule. This means that when the cube is put within an electric field light-blue plasma is produced within the display.
